Shelton Cemetery

To reach the inactive cemetery from Cameron, starting at the intersection of US 190/ SH 36 and

US 77 proceed east and then south on US 190/SH 36 for approx. 7.0 miles. Turn left onto dirt

road CR 237, cross the railroad tracks and proceed 0.2 mile until a fence line perpendicular to

the road is viewed to the right. In the distant south on this same property, a lone tree

adjacent the fence line and a white storage building will be seen. Proceed 0.2 mile on the

lightly traveled lane adjacent to the fence line to the above tree surrounded with lilies.

Headstone remnants will be seen on the south side and under the tree.

The cemetery is on private property and it is recommended that a Mr. James(Rusty) Bankston be
