I am writing in regards to MSG Charles L. Price III, Memorial# 75022823. We served together in
Afghanistan and I was there when he was killed in action. I need information on your cemetery so I
can come and pay my respects. Please call or email me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Thanks for contacting the Milam County Historical Commission.
I found where Charles Levan Price III is buried in the Cameron Rest Cemetery.
The following directions are from "170 Years of Cemetery Records by Norinne Holder Holman:
"The Cameron Rest Cemetery is located on Farm to Market Road 1600 about a mile from the center of
Cameron in the northeast quadrant of Milam County. To go to the Cemetery (from Cameron) take Crockett
Street southwest from State Highway 36 And at FM 1600 turn to the left. Pass Wilson-Ledbetter Park
and then a gravel road will appear in a short distance. This road divides the older part of the
cemetery and the newer. The older part that is between the swimming pool and the gravel road, has
grown up and the stones are barely visible. The entrance to the newer part of the burial ground is
past the gravel road and is on the left facing FM 1600. The Hernandez Cemetery is behind the newer
section."

The ‘Holder’ directions are old. There is no Wilson Ledbetter Park swimming pool, etc any more.
You can see the cemetery as you come upon it on the left past the park pond off the road and the old
meeting house.

I do not know anything about the burial place of Charles Price but I was in Commissioners Court the
day that a highway was named as a memorial highway.
I believe that this mother was also present that day. I would think that one of the funeral homes in
Cameron would have details of the burial and how to get to it.
Mrs Holder's books would be helpful but of course this is past the time when they were last updated.
