#14 - Sheriff Lovett Thomas Dillashaw was born February 28, 1834 in the Abbeville
District of South Carolina.

Lovett was sent to Baltimore where he attended architect school and somewhere between
1850 and 1856 came to Milam County Texas where he married Mary Elizabeth Gallatin on May
14, 1856 in Bell County, Texas.

He was elected on August 6, 1861 and served until August 4, 1862.

He served with Sneeds’ Company of militia with the rank of 4th. Sgt. (pension records
show Co. F, 8th. Texas Regiment).

After the war he moved his family to Brazos County where they lived near Bryan until
1877 and then moved to Hamilton Co.

There is a road today that runs up north of Bryan called the Dillie Shaw Tap. This road
split the land owned by Lovett and that of his brother.

Dillashaw had three children; Annie Cordelia (b.1857), Fenton, and Sarah.

Lovett Dillashaw died October 24, 1914 in Waco and is buried in the Waco City Cemetery.
